Resources for Sexual Abuse Victims
Sexual Abuse is never your fault. I am so sorry that you or someone you know has experienced this pain. I am living proof that not only does God care what you have been through but he also will bring healing in your life. It is very important that you pursue your healing. The first step is to tell a trusted adult such as a parent, grandparent, youth pastor, or pastor. Sometimes that can seem very hard, especially if the abuse happened within your family or friends. However the first step toward healing is facing the truth.
Sometimes finding help for sexual abuse can seem tough, but don’t give up. Here is a list of ministries and helpful books and resources. If one of these does not seem to work for you, please don’t give up! Pursue help another way. I had to knock on many doors to find my healing. Sometimes healing comes in stages.

Note to Parents:
Finding help for you and your family with the difficult crisis of childhood sexual abuse is critical. Our book, Kalyn’s Secret, is a great place to start for help. But we encourage you, do not give up knocking on doors to find the help you need for your specific situation. Qualified counselors in the area of sexual abuse need special training. Shopping for the help you need rather than just taking the first try can make the difference in receiving your healing. We recommend Christian sources of help. Only God can heal the wounded soul. However, some immediate forms of crisis intervention may be needed. Please pray and seek God’s wisdom for your family.
